**Price negotiable based on situation and move-in date… note that you’ll be required to pay my current rent ($1960/month) but I can potentially subsidize part of it depending on your move-in date. We also have some furniture we can lend/sell you if you need a furnished apartment.**

I’m looking for someone to take over my lease in my amazing Fort Greene studio. I’m only leaving because my boyfriend’s lease is up, and we’ve decided to move in together. My landlord is aware that I am searching for a new tenant and you will be able to fully takeover my lease from April 1 (date negotiable) – August 31. You’ll then have the option to renew. Note that you’ll have to fill out an application to take over the lease with my landlord.

The apartment is pet friendly with a live-in super who is really responsive to any problems. Washer/dryer in basement (I’ll give you my card and some credit on it!). The apartment has maintained its “old Brooklyn brownstone feel”, which I love. The building was built in the 1920s and still has the same charm! The wooden floors are amazing! We also have an elevator, and a locked mailroom (which is a huge lifesaver– no packages are ever just sitting outside). The only amenity that’s really missing is a dish washer.

There are so many amazing bars and restaurants in the area, and really good coffee at Bittersweet. We’re right by Walters, Miss Ada, Olea, Colonia Verde, Dino’s, Imani, and so many other delicious option on Dekalb Ave. Our block itself is family friendly, but still really fun (lots of dance parties in the summer).

Fort Greene park is really the best park in Brooklyn! During the summer, there are free live events all the time. On Saturdays there is a farmers market. This really is one of the most sought after areas in Brooklyn.

There is a Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Mr. Mango (cheap produce) and Target all within 10-15 minutes walk, and a Bodega at the end of the block.

Additionally, the room has a big window with a lot of light in the mid- to late- afternoon. There’s a ton of closet space.

Electricity/gas usually total an additional $50-70/month.

I also have a queen sized loft bed frame that I will give you for free. It has a 5’6″ clearance and allows you to put a desk/storage under it, but works for tall people too. Otherwise I can remove it!

The apartment is a 10 minute walk from Barclays (2,3,4,5,B,D,N,Q,R,W) and a 5 minute walk from the nearest G. Incredibly convenient to get to Manhattan (15 minutes to LES). Also it is a 20 minute walk from Prospect Park/Brooklyn Museum, a 10 minute walk from the Brooklyn Academy of Music, a 15 minute walk from Pratt and LIU, and a 30 minute walk from Brooklyn Bridge Park. There’s a citibike rack at the end of our block. Parking is pretty easy at night and weekends.

We are happy to give you a virtual tour of the apartment so you can get a better idea of how the space looks with furniture. While it is a cozy studio, we’ve found a way to have a kitchen, work, and TV area. It can be done in a small studio!


You’ll need to have a reference (I just got a reference from my last roommates and it worked perfectly), proof of employment/income (or a guarantor), most recent bank statement, signed current lease, most recent 3 paystubs (unless you have a guarantor), W-2s, and a notarized letter stating who will live in the apartment. My landlord was understanding about these requirements so we can work through it if you don’t have one of the above.

One month’s rent and security deposit (equal to one month’s rent) required. I can likely help with the security deposit.

When I signed my lease, the approval process took about 2 weeks. I will send you all of the requirements when you commit to the apartment. Only thing that held me up was needing the notarized letter and checks to put down the security deposit and 1 month’s rent.
